I went to my first Buffalo Bills game in 30 years and it was epic!
I went with my cousin, Jill. She's the last person I attended a game with 30 years ago, which made it that more special. Jill is like a sister to me. Adding to the specialness of the game, Jill's daughter, Lily and my cousin, Dana, completed our foursome and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way! The experience meant everything to me.
Also, in true "Rachel form," I left my glasses in the car and had to watch the game in my sunglasses. All I could do was shake my head and laugh at myself... also, I didn't care, because the vibe at Hallmark Stadium (Rich Stadium, to me) was beyond electric.
With two minutes to go in the game, Mr Brightside by The Killers blasted throughout the stadium. It's become "a thing" at Bills games this season. I love that song and when they played it late in the fourth quarter, I lost my shit. It was everything to hear 70K+ fans singing every word while Bills players jammed on the sideline. I will never forget that feeling.
Our seats were 14 rows up from the field, in an end zone. Incredible, to say the least. I felt like I could almost pat Josh Allen and our boys on the back! And.... We beat the Kansas City Chiefs 30-21. The stadium was rocking and I haven't stopped smiling yet.
GO BILLS!!!
