When I am not driving the Miss Daisies around Buffalo, this is what's happening...
My mom is at the life stage where she needs to use a walker. It is a new addition to her life and another nagging point for me (she loves that. haha). Now, my mom hated the walker with a passion and took every opportunity to tell me… that is, until I strongly encouraged her to take a short stroll around the hood with me and Piggie. It was a game changer.
For the mother who would never let her doting daughter get a dog growing up (that’s a whole other story), she now calls Piggie "her" dog (insert eye roll). Ever since I moved home two years ago, those two have been besties! My mom cuddles with Piggie on the couch every day, naps with Piggie, talks to her, shares food with her and even smooches the Pig repeatedly... and Piggie loves every minute with her Grammaline.
I just wanted to set the stage for the monumental walk that took place with these two old birds.
So, we started at my mom’s condo and slowly, but surely, rounded the corner to continue onto Linwood Ave. We made it 1/3 of the way down the block when my mom needed a little break. No prob, breaks are good for the old gals. My 14-year-old Piggie was more than happy to oblige. She doesn’t like to walk far anyway and her pace is slowwwww.
So after the break, the Miss Daisy OG (my mom) started pushing her walker with the new Miss Daisy, now perched on the seat. Seriously, what was happening?! I should have a sore neck from shaking my head with these two.
My mom thought the whole thing was a hoot and Piggie loved every minute too.
I have no doubt Piggie is extending the quality of my mom's life and she is doing the same for Piggie.
For that, I can’t complain... but I can still shake my head.

This is the BEST. They’re perfect for each other. This makes my heart smile. All you birds make my ❤️ smile. Thank you for that.
They both look so happy!!!
I adore Piggie and your mother. Did my soul good on this bleak day. My cat Ruby had to go away today (insert crying and wailing). My FIL who turned 105 Saturday decided he had to leave too ( more crying and wailing).
